1000 followers milestone reached!

Yesterday I hit the 1000-follower target on LinkedIn: let's celebrate!

Yesterday I reached the 1000 followers milestone (πŸŽ‰) on my LinkedIn profile, so I thought to introduce myself again to my new connections, and perhaps to add a few personal details for those who do not know me well.

I am an Italian freelance translator, and I mainly translate medical contents from English into Italian. I work from my home office, so smart working is nothing new for me. Anyway, I never feel lonely, as I am almost constantly connected with my colleagues Beatrice, Claudia, Federica and Ombretta - all of them Translating Health team members - via Skype. They live in different parts of Italy (Aosta Valley, Lombardy and Apulia) and they have diverse backgrounds, but we share the same passion for linguistics, translation and medicine in particular.

To give you an idea of what I do, I recently translated:

β–Ί Informed consent forms (ICFs) for various clinical trials (e.g. on multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease and schizophrenia, to name a few),
β–Ί Instructions for use (e.g. for a respiratory support system, a dental micro motor, transurethral catheter safety valves, etc.), and, of course,
β–Ί COVID19-related contents, e.g. correspondence about trial management during the coronavirus emergency, or instructions about IgG/IgM test kits.

As you can see, my job is very varied, which is what I like most about it.

Besides, I have always tried to focus on subjects I am personally interested in, so, for instance, I work a lot in the 🍜food area (mainly special nutrition, food for celiac disease, diabetes, IBS, etc.), and, being from Asti, Piedmont, I am obviously a wine lover 🍷, so I often translate materials about enology and wine tasting.

In my spare time, I like hiking in the mountains and on Monferrato hills, and I practice Nordic walking and yoga. I am interested in the connection between physical exercise – yoga in particular – and health. If you are curious about these subjects, stay tuned as I am planning to go deeper into these topics in my future posts.
